A medium sized Dactylogyrus at 400X and captured with a digital camera on a tripod. Note the four eyespots which delineates Dactylogyrus from Gyrodactylus who has no eye spots. Also note the two huge hooks(anchors) in the ventral end as well as the many little marginal hooks that line the tissue around the anchors. The hooks are notorious for being able to inject pathogenic bacteria deeply into the tissues of the hosts skin, gills and fins. Sorry about the crazy soundtrack, I was watching an expose about televangelists.

Parasite Hell

Since August 27th, I have been to an Internist, four Emergency Rooms, Stony Brook’s Center for Infectious Diseases, a Dermatologist, a Gastroenterologist, an Opthamologist, and a Family Practioner, and not one has taken a skin sample to determine and/or rule out if I am suffering from parasitosis, or delusions of, despite my requesting that they do so. They say that every cloud has a silver lining, and were it not for my pursuing medical assistance for the parasites, I probably would never have had the colonoscopy that found the cancer. As grateful as I am for having the cancer discovered, I am shocked that having a sample of my skin taken has become such a herculean task. May God grant me the serenity…

Mouse with parasite & eyeball ( botfly – larva )

A video on YouTube after someone’s cat caught a mouse, then noticed a BotFly/Larva worm coming out of the dead mouse:

"I noticed my cat caught a mouse, on closer inspection after the cat left, I noticed the inside of the mouse’s stomach was moving. Slowly this thing started coming out of the mouse’s stomach. I should have gotten my camera sooner. I just didn’t know what was going on. The video shows the parasite outside of the body… ohh yeah the black circle to the left of the mouse is the mouse’s eyeball!"
